May 22nd, 2017 - S&P 500 e-Mini - Trading Activity - Today's Sim Trade Profit $1,250

Start of another Week.

Nothing tragic or weird enough happened over the weekend to have any significant impact and the markets opened more or less where they closed out last week.

Swing Trade Strategy
Here is another one of the swing trade strategies I am tracking.
This one is based on the Naked Close concept that is the core of my day trading methods.
I back checked this one to January 2016 until January 2017. From January 2017 forward it is updated daily going forward.
It is either hot or cold, so I need to find something that levels it off.
Right now it uses a $2,000 stop with no targets. The exit is the first profitable close after the open.
And it reverses on an opposing signal
Maybe I need to bring in a target?

Pre-market Simulation

A small rally from the open took us into a buy signal on the 10,000 tick chart @ 1:42. This signal has a statistical probability of 75%. Took 2 long @ 2384.75. Target @ 2385.75.
No follow through. Market reversed direction and mover lower. Flipped the trade to short after the third Nkd Cls lower on the 2,000 tick. Took 12 short @ 2380.50. 2 to cover the longs and 10 for recovery. Might have waited to long to flip the trade. We shall see. Target 2379.50
Took a while and we had to live through a rally, but we finally hit the target. This is when I discovered that I set the target in the wrong place was at 2379.75 instead of 2379.50.
So, I did not fully recover from the previous trade and ended up with a loss of $78.
We will get that back later.

Coming off the morning low the 2,000 tick rallied, pulled back then rallied into a buy signal. Took 2 long @ 2384.75. Target @ 2385.75.
Target hit, we are flat with $14 profit.

Switch to Real Money Account for Open Trade

Coming into the open all signs are for a buy.

8:25 - 10,000 tick bar gives us a buy signal. Took 2 long @ 2384.75. Target @ 2385.75
Target was hit on the open and I immediately took 2 more long at 2385.75. Target 2386.75.
Target was hit we are out with $180 profit.

Switch Back to Simulation Account

8:33 - 10,000 tick bar gives us a buy signal. Took 2 long @ 2387.25. Target @ 2388.25.
Target hit, we are flat with $111 profit.

The 2,000 tick takes a little breather, goes SWS for 3 bars then breaks higher with a buy signal. Took 2 long @ 2389.00. Messed up the target, set @ 2389.25.
Target was hit, we are flat with $129 profit.

8:40 - 10,000 tick gives us a buy signal. Took 2 long @ 2389.50. Target @ 2390.50.
A pull back then rallied into the target. We are flat with $227 profit.

8:47 - 10,000 tick gives us a buy signal. Took 2 long @ 2390.25. Target @ 2391.25.
No follow through. The 2,000 tick declined below the previous short term low hinted at a second sell signal. Flipped short. Took 7 sort @ 2388.75. 2 to cover the longs and 5 for recovery. Target @ 2387.75.
Might have jumped the gun on this one. Did not wait for the 2,000 tick bar to close and when it did there was no sell signal.
Should have waited, the 2,000 tick rallied into a buy signal which I cannot ignore. Took 23 long @ 2390.50. 5 to cover the shorts and 18 for recovery. Target @ 2391.25.
2,000 tick threatening another sell signal like the last one.
Waited for the second signal to confirm. Flipped to short. Took 64 contracts short @ 2389.50. 18 to cover the longs and 46 for recovery. Target @ 2388.50.
Followed through. Target hit, we are flat with $869 profit.

This is a good example of how fast things can get away on you if you make a mistake.
To follow through on this trade would have required an account size of at least $60,000 and nerves of steel to follow through on it.

What did we learn from this?
Wait for the signal bar to close and confirm the signal before taking the trade.
If we would have been a bit more patient we would not have had this bit of excitement.
But, the upside is we cam out of it with a sizeable profit.

9:18 - 10,000 tick bar gives us a sell signal. Took 2 short @ 2388.75. Target @ 2387.75.
Target hit, we are flat with $964 profit.

9:34 - 2,000 tick rallies into a lower short term high then declines into a sell signal. Took 2 short @ 2387.25. Target @ 2386.25.
Target hit, we are flat with $1059 profit.

9:48 - 2,000 tick rallies into a lower short term high then declines into a sell signal. Took 2 short @ 2386.75. Target @ 2385.75.
Target hit, we are flat with  $1154 profit.

9:50 - 10,000 tick gives us a sell signal. Took 2 short @ 2386.00. Target 2385.00.
Target hit, we are flat with $1,249 profit.

10:20 - the 2,000 tick gave us a second signal off a rally from the last low. Missed this signal because I was cleaning up the mess I made preparing lasagna for supper.
Would have been a good trade making the target.

it is 10:45 and I am going to call it a wrap for the day.
