The big gap up on the French election results is a surprise.
We will need to take that into consideration.
Normally a gap like this will tend to close itself.

Pre-market simulation trading.
We saw some more action to the upside around 2:00 am when the European markets open.
Will be interesting to see if the North American markets are as upbeat about the election results.
Took a long trade at about 5:00 am and took 1 point out of it.
This was based on the 10000 tick chart.
I have been tracking it's performance for about a month.
It is starting to look interesting, but I need more data to confirm whether it is consistent.

So, I ended up taking 2 trades in the pre-market, 1 long and 1 short.
Made a point on each, the switched to the real money account.
$90 so far in the simulation.

Real Money Open Trade
The market was moving lower and the 830 bar gave me solid sell signal.
Took 2 contracts short, covered one with a 1 point profit and the second with a target about the middle of the congestion at the open.
Profit for the day is $230.
Nice to see the plan come together so nicely after the scenario from last Thursday and Friday.

Back to the simulator.

Last week showed me a couple of weakness in my 30 minute strategy.
I already was aware of these, but they hit home in the real world.

1. 30 minutes is along time to wait for a signal, especially if the market is going against you.
2. the money management strategy is an Achilles heal if there is not enough capital in place.
3. The 30 minute bars can move along ways before getting a signal which forces taking more contracts based on the money management strategy.

So, we need to find solutions for these weaknesses.
Maybe we find it in the 10,000 tick charts.
We will see.

Anyways, back to trading.
The North America market did not know how to take the opening gap and there was a period of uncertainty off the open with a gentle down trend into the open price.
Hard to trade, but made 4 trades and picked up as many points.
There was pretty solid support at the days open price.
The market moved up from there, but without any real conviction ending the day just below the overnight high.
Tight range not much follow through and tricky to trade.
Made a total of 6 trades that closed and have one open position at the end of the day.
Net on the closed trades is $395.00
