July 27th, 2017 - S&P 500 e-Mini - Trading Activity - Today's Real Money Profit $0, Sim Trade Profit $514

Opening Comments

Once again we see a rally in the overnight trading that is challenging the historic highs.
And once again we get a weak test without any real break out.

We are short 8 contracts with an average price of 2440.00.
Our target is held over from early last week at 2419.25.

Profit Target for this week is $350 per day, once we close out the current open position.

Based on cycle and inter-market analysis that we follow, we are expecting a market correction in the near term, before the end of July.

Real Money Trading S&P 500 e-Mini

We are short 8 contracts from last with an average price of 2440.00
The 50% Fibonacci retracement level is at 2440.
This puts us in a pretty good position for the pullback in the market that we are anticipating.

Target set at 2419.25.

We continue to monitor the situation.

About mid-day we had a very strong decline taking us down to the 2458 level, then a rally back to near the day open.
This sets up an outside day with a down close.
Could be the start of our correction pullback?

 At the EOD we are down about $350 on this trade.
The Bond market declined ahead of the S&P then rallied back with it.

Simulation Trading S&P 500 e-Mini

 Not much in the way of opportunities in the overnight market.
We saw a rally into historic highs then a pullback.
Coming into the open we are seeing a long bias.

Some interesting activity in the regular hours today.
The market could not break through resistance at the 2480 level.
Then there was a big decline in the early afternoon then a rally back to near the open.
Lots of volume today and good volatility.
Made 36 trades on the day with a few Flips in the mix.

Tried something a bit different on the Flip Trades.
Not sure If I like it yet.

Opening Comments No market moving events over the weekend. The markets opened about where they closed and have made a small upward move continuing the Friday late day rally. Opening Comments The market  rallied out of the open continuing Monday's afternoon rally. In the short term, next couple of days, we should expect a rally to take back some of last weeks losses before continuing lower. Swing Trade Strategies Yesterday I mentioned a Swing Trade Strategy that I follow that needs a bit of work to improve it's performance. This strategy is based on the Naked Close concept. First of all what is a Naked Close? There are 2 types of naked closes. For a show of strength the close of this bar is higher than the high of the previous bar. I call this a Naked Close Long signal. For a show of weakness the close of this bar is lower than the low of the previous bar. I call this a Naked Close Short signal. In the chart below, a daily chart of the S&P 500 e-mini, the green dots indicate bars with a Naked Close Long signal and the red dots indicate bars with Naked Close Short signals.
